1937. oooh. . . πŸ‘€

starting engines—
vroom! vroom! vroom! πŸ‘€!
well, hello there

In the parking lot waiting to see who’d pull out first, he was looking at me, that handsome fella. Ooooh! πŸ‘€.  I couldn’t help but think of Humphrey Bogart in the 1942 movie, Casablanca, gazing into the eyes of Ingrid Bergman. . . “Here’s looking at you, Kid.”

1936. brrrr. . .πŸ₯Ά

-4°
wish i didn’t have to rise
‘n shine—brrr. . .πŸ₯Ά

It is sooooo cold! Even looks like the sun is shivering! Just sayin’😘

1935. down to the ground

 which way to go—
eenie, meenie, mine, mo. . .
yes or no

Sometimes it’s better to walk and get the steps in, sometimes better to take the elevator.  Hmmm. . . To walk or not to walk, that is the question. 😘

1934. inside out

high and low
gazing out at the snow
two birds

In the museum with walls of art on the inside, sometimes the picture to take is outside through the window. After all, it was Pierre Bonnard, the impressionist painter, who said, “The best thing in museums is the windows.”

1933. in harmony

stars in the sky
birds flying high and fishes—
and trees

“Tiny Universe” — 5x 7” — Origami

I was inspired by these words of Deepak Chopra:  A flower, a rainbow, a tree, a blade of grass, a human body—when broken down to their essential components, are information and energy. The entire cosmos, in its essential nature, is the movement of information and energy.

1932. one dot

what’s that?
my toes pointing straight ahead—
one dot

In the middle of my morning reading, I sensed something out of place on the floor by my feet. Looking up I thought, what’s that?! So I got up—One Dot. I love these digital emojis— they cover almost everything, even a Mahjong tile!πŸ€„️

It must’ve fallen out of my bag when I was playing the other night and Mikey found it and was batting it around on the living room floor. I’m glad she didn’t decide to hide it away.😽

1931. lotta snow

lotta snow falling
nothing to do but enjoy
my gingerbread

Sunday morning. Snow outside looks pretty through my windows inside. I’ve been watching the snow for hours; it’s supposed to snow all day! Counting down the hours til NFL Finals later today.

1930. brrrrrrr!πŸ₯Ά

cold windy night
high on the flagpole
flag flying high
*
my finger hesitates
to catch the perfect pose
flag does its thing
*
windy night
flag shivers and shakes
so do i!

Moon and flag. Stillness and action. Yin and yang. The dynamic dance of life. Dance. “Let’s Dance,” David Bowie album.  “Shall We Dance?” Richard Gere movie. Love Richard Gere! Love the way my mind meanders from one thing to another.😘

1929. counting the days

dreaming of summer
racing on hot ocean waves—
two jet skis

Today’s count—149 days! Like best buddies, hanging out in the driveway, watching and waiting for summer—sunshine and heat waves and deep-sea waves, two jet skis. ☀️ 🌊 🚀 🚀

1928. double happiness

life is too short
to ever have boring hair and
the more the merrier

Happiness is a good hair day. When my hair looks good, I can deal with anything. I’d love to kiss ya, but I just washed my hair—Betty Davis. Blondes may be noticed, but redheads are never forgotten. Hair today, gone tomorrow! 😘

1927. onward

all in a row
going with the flow—
ducks in the snow

Even the ducks know that to get ahead you gotta obey the traffic signs. πŸ˜‰

1926. yikes!

yikes!
it!s not a pretty picture!
it’s the big one!

This is not a pretty picture! They really mean business when they bring out the big one—the BIG SNOWFLAKE! ❄️

First thing I do every morning after getting out of bed, putting on my sweats, peeing, brushing my teeth, lighting candles, feeding Mikey, turning on the heat and humidifier, making my coffee, sitting down to read. . .first thing I do is pick up my phone and look at the morning temperature and weather predictions for the week ahead. Today they brought out the BIG SNOWFLAKE predicting snowfall of 11-13” on Sunday, 5-6” on Monday, maybe more Tuesday. Yikes!😱 😘

1925. the dog in me

look at all the snow—
wish i could eat all the snowflakes
and bark like a dog!🐢

That dog was barking like there’s just no tomorrow. Couldn't help but wonder what was he saying? What was he thinking? So here's my story. I just love looking out at snow, walking in snow, rolling in snow, eating snow. Makes me bark out loud! πŸΆ

1924. i spy!

in the studio
brushes, frames, puzzle, and mikey
hiding out

Deep in the rafters, Mikey hiding out. Some cats hate vacuum cleaners. For Mikey it’s the microwave!πŸ™€ She runs far away from the microwave and hides out til the coast is clear.

(Lately I’ve been scrambling for pictures to post. This one’s a gift from Dan. Thanks, honey!)

1923. neon at night

 neon! neon! neon!
on the left. . .on the right—
the middle, too

I was aiming for neon on the left, Dan’s eye was on the right. Hey! What’s that: neon on his jacket? Where’d that come from? Here’s Dan’s cool photo:

1922. Sweetbriar Cafe

freezing cold outside
spooning ice cream inside
yum!πŸ˜‹

Outside it was 21° with a windy chill of 12°. Four women meet at Sweetbriar Cafe once a month, every month, rain or shine, hot or cold, for lunch and ice cream. Oh, joy!

1921. naked

out in the open—
thirteen naked bush birds!
sunbathing

On a bright sunny day in the parking lot behind the pizza parlor, the birds drop their cover and step out for some Ds.😘

1920. i’m here!

the speaker speaks
all heads turn to the speaker
“hey, i’m here. . .”

At the artist’s talk. The audience filled every seat. All cell phones were silenced. The speaker began to speak as all heads turned ahead. Then my phone screen lit up—“Hey, I’m here up in the balcony.” And there she was!

Thanks, Rachel, for my next blog post.😘

1919. offering incense

quiet moment
sunday morning in the grotto
lighting incense

Throughout time, the practice of burning incense has been used as an offering across cultures in Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Taoism to carry prayers to higher realms connecting the earthly and spiritual realms, to help a create a tranquil mind, to cleanse negative energies, to symbolize the transient nature of life.

1918. hope

by the grotto
broken urn, scattered stones..,
a tiny blossom

At the foot of the grotto of the Blessed Mother, a tiny blossom dares to bloom. Hope blooms eternal. Hope plus action makes things happen. Hold onto your hope.

1917. eagles and panda bears

preoccupied
eagles football today. . .go green!
lookin’ for the pandas

Early morning walk—“Hey,” he said, “look at that patch of green,” She saw the big patch of bamboo and took a shot. Later on, preoccupied with football playoff games and rooting for the “hometown green” Philadelphia Eagles, she finally remembers to post and manages to tie things together in a haiku.πŸ˜‰

1916. mikey snoozing

ho! ho! hay!
saturday is caturday
hooray!

There’s Mikey, doing her favorite thing—snoozing. It’s official. Did you know that Saturday is Caturday? A layback, informal holiday for cats and cat lovers to share charming or cute postings across social media like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

1915. cup of tea?

on top of the roof
on a cold and windy day—
a game of ladders

Five ladders, three on this side, two on the other. I looked up, all the way up to the roof of the house—pulled over, got out of the car, walked back and snapped a couple of pictures. Two additional workmen on the sidewalk across the street smiled and asked me if I wanted to go up there. “No thanks,” I said, “not my cup of tea!”

1913. that bush

that bush:
in a tangle every which way
bad hair day!

Soon as I saw that bush, “bad hair day” flashed into my mind like a firecracker! Glad I don’t have curly hair. I’d hate to have to brush that out!πŸ˜‰

1912. snow scene

snow
on the rails, the trees, the field—
where was this?

I like this picture. I really like this picture. I zoom in and look around at all the pretty snow but can’t remember where this was, or is. I must’ve been driving, there’s snow on the window. My phone dates this December 14, 10:38AM and shows Flourtown but, for the life of me, I can’t figure out where this is, or was. I wonder if Dan might know.

1911. football sunday

there’s Mikey
all set for the eagles game—
what time is kickoff?!

Mikey loves Sundays. Mikey loves football. She’s got the best seat in the house, all set for today’s games. 😻

1910. cat people

“cat people welcome”
signpost at the front door—
my kinda people

I saw the sign by the front door and stopped. I thought about knocking, but didn’t. Next time I will. ☺️

1909. happy old dog

december 31

in good company

“In Good Company” — 8x10” — Origami

Celebrating memories of the year passing by and ringing in promise a new year to come, everywhere she looked all her dogs for good company—to pet, or give a treat, or rub a belly, or warm her feet. Yes, she was a happy old dog on New Year’s Eve.🐢

1908. Happy New YearπŸ₯³

happy new year!

A simple life is a good life—one from column A, one from column B. Too many choices is not such a good thing, it only complicates things. Give me a simple life and I’ll be happy.

May we all live well in health, happiness, harmony, laughter and love. Happy New Year everyone!!!🧧🌟πŸ₯³
