Snowdrop flowers are traditional harbingers of spring, announcing an end to winter. The first flowers to bloom at the end of winter, they can be seen as symbols of new beginnings, hope, rebirth, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Although they typically begin to surface in woodland areas during February and March, these snowdrops were popping up yesterday at the nearby Arboretum—it was January 5. Hmmm….
