but she sure can spin 





Say hello to Rumi. She’s a Meyers Parrot, out for a ride in the car. According to her owner, she’s a happy-go-lucky bird who likes to get out for bit of fresh air and sunshine “to keep her spirits up,” and “when she’s really happy and excited, she spins round and round and round,” just like a whirling dervish. That’s how she came to be named Rumi, after Jalaluddin Rumi, the famous Sufi mystic and poet who started whirling dervish ceremonies as a form of meditation way back in the 13th Century.
