Late last year, the Philadelphia Museum of Art hosted an exhibition of works by Henri Matisse. I took this picture. From time to time, it makes me wonder. Mattise once said, “I do not literally paint what I see, but the emotion it produces upon me.” I can almost feel him worshiping her.
