1781. at daybreak

birds call here…there
mist rising over the lake
at daybreak

Reflections of stillness on the lake, writing a poem to share with friends.

1780. stairwell

stairwell made of stone
tumbling down the cold grey steps
shadows and green leaves

Summer slowly coming to an end—Leaves are falling and shadows grow long. Looking down into the ancient stairwell carved from stone, leaves above and below lead the way.

1779. a mouthful

lotus leaves:
looks like he got lucky
little larvae

Lotus flowers growing in a garden pot. Tiny caterpillar, smaller than an inch, found a leaf to match its size. Bite by bite working its way all around on its mission to bloom and blossom into a moth or butterfly. This must be a Little Lepidoptera Larvae. Try saying that three times fast! That’s a mouthful!
